Leaving for Alaska

Yesterday, after two days of shopping and packing, Bruce and Anthony were finally ready to go to the airport. I received a call this morning that they have reached their destination - Kodiak Island, after a flight from LA to Anchorage and a smaller flight from Anchorage to Kodiak. They will be backpacking and fishing there for two weeks.

Being a concerned parent, I have been busily researching and printing up instructions for bear encounters. I learned alot about bears, and hope that Anthony and Bruce won't need to use any of my imparted knowledge.
